Future Designs, Inc. (FDI) was founded in 1989 with a commitment to high quality devices and happy customers.
With a strong history of product design, development, and production, FDI’s management team has combined experience exceeding 100 years in electronics development and manufacturing success.
FDI is dedicated to every aspect of our customer’s success—from being your on-call design team when you’re facing a tricky deadline to ensuring your integration is “right the first time” by providing 100% automated functional testing. We think ahead to support growth and a rapid time-to-market. For example, in 2020, we stockpiled parts prior to product shortages so that our customers were not disrupted by the worldwide supply chain challenges that year.

FDI is located in Huntsville, Alabama. Nicknamed ‘Rocket City’ for its ties to NASA, Huntsville is a high-tech hot spot. The city boasts a tremendous amount of technical talent, low cost of living, and competitive salaries for technical professionals.
Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy Huntsville for its mild climate, access to hiking trails, vast hunting grounds and caves. Yes, caves: Huntsville boasts one of the highest densities of caves in the U.S. and is home to the National Speleological Society (NSS).
At just 2 hours from Birmingham, AL and Nashville, TN and less than 4 hours from Atlanta, GA, Huntsville is a growing city with a small town feel. And just as you might expect of a true Southern town, it takes food and drink seriously. Between its burgeoning craft brewery scene and location smack dab in the middle of the North Alabama Food Trail, it’s safe to say no one leaves Huntsville hungry.
